Checked the photos in the Thursday Styles section of the NY Times.  This crib is only 178 sq. feet, but dude does a good job a maximizing every ounce of available space.  Oddly enough, he fills up as much empty space as possible to give the room depth.  Interesting strategy, but it works.  I’m feelin it.

London Loft

Posted in architecture, design, Fly Sh*t with tags , , , , on January 31, 2010 by youalreadyknowwhoitis

Photos of a loft in London from the NY Times. I really like the exposed wood beams throughout the place.  Gives it a rustic look, which is a nice balance with the modern and nature inspired fixtures in the home.  Most of furniture and decor are from Mufti, a London furniture store.  The owner of the loft also owns the store.

Personally, I wouldn’t have gone with the light colored furniture & fixtures solely based on the fear that I’d spill food or coffee and have to spend a fortune to get the stuff cleaned.  Would not be a good look.

Like a rock

Happy Sunday.  I came across these photos and this article while reading the NY Times this morning.  A NYC builder and his wife built a home in upstate NY that surrounds a 250 ton boulder.  Very creative!  Seeing this made me think of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Falling Water.

Granted this house has no falling water, but I didn’t have many other points of reference regarding houses in the woods and giant rocks.  (what am I talking about??)

I think the final product is very aesthetically pleasing to the eye and adds an unmatched natural element to their home.  Very dope.

Yo.  Found these pics and article in the NY Times of a old gas station in Berlin, Germany that was converted into a crib.  Very creative!  That’s an idea that would have never crossed my mind.  I came out pretty dope too.  I really like the way the owner kept parts of the old station in tact and added modern pieces to give it a unique personality.
